Discover life in Hudiksvall with The Recruitment Train

Flytta till Hudiksvall - Rekryteringståget

Flytta Till was created as a meeting place between people who are dreaming about a life outside the big city and Sweden’s many countryside cities. Therefore, we get a little bit extra excited when we get a chat with Lava Bastan, project manager for the Rekryteringståget/The Recruitment Train initiative, about this creative event organized by Hudiksvall’s commune in collaboration with local companies and organizations.

Rekryteringståget is exactly what it sounds like: A chartered X2000-train departing from Stockholm Central Station that will take anyone who is curious about what it would be like to live along the Norrland coast up to beautiful Hudiksvall where, among other things, a career fair awaits.

“You can’t convey the sense of a place from somewhere else. With this initiative, we want to showcase all the amazing possibilities Hudiksvall and its surroundings have to offer,” Lava Bastan says enthusiastically.

Besides the opportunity to meet with about 30 employers at the career fair, you and your family will be able to join a guided tour around Hudiksvall, soak up the atmosphere and see if ‘Glada Hudik’, or ‘Happy Hudik’ lives up to its nickname.

We can tell that Lava is passionate about showing off this gem of a city along the Norrland coast and we can also tell that Lava enjoys being an ambassador for the commune:

“Many companies and organizations travel to different places around Sweden to attract skilled professionals. Today, however, people move to a place and not to a job. Therefore it is important to show what your place, your city, has to offer when it comes to both living and working. We want to give future Hudiksvall’ers the opportunity to experience our beautiful, family friendly commune right here.”

At Flytta Till we like creative, forward-thinking initiatives like Rekryteringståget and will, of course, be boarding the train to experience Hudiksvall and to share our impressions with all of you.

The train departs from Stockholm Central Station on Sunday the 16th of September at 8 am and returns to Stockholm the same evening.

188kr. The ticket includes the return train fare, breakfast on the train, entrance to the career fair and lunch as well as a light meal on the train ride back to Stockholm. Bus transfer to the career fair, activities for children and a guided tour around Hudiksvall is also included in the fair.
